SEEC Workshops
On Wednesday, 1st July 2009, year 10 Art, Textiles, Photography and Graphics
pupils visited SEEC (South East Essex College) to attend specialized workshops taught by college staff.
This not only gave them an idea of college life but also helped them with further techniques and skills.
Photography pupils explored pinhole photography and developed their skills in the darkroom. Textiles pupils used a technique that
combined acetate, fabric and sewing machines to create fashion-inspired designs which they later transformed using Photoshop. Graphics
pupils worked on a mini-project using drawing and ICT to create logos and Art and Design pupils used batik to create postcards which
were printed professionally.
Overall, the day was extremely successful and the work will be included as part of the pupils’ GCSE projects.
