Our Open School is held every year (this year it was in October, 2009) between 10AM - 1PM. Our Open School is always a huge success, with a huge number of families visiting Cornelius to have a look round the school before making a decision on their application for a school for sons / daughters who are currently pupils in Year 6.
The purposes of Open School:
to provide an opportunity for visitors to look around our school and facilities; for visitors to meet senior staff and speak to teachers; to show the educational experience at Cornelius to help parents and potential pupils make up their mind about destination post-primary school.
A huge range of displays and activities are held through out the school. Our prefects come into school to show visitors around the site. Carol Skewes - Headteacher - gives a number of speeches during the morning which are very well attended by our visitors. Food and drink is made available for visitors, staff and pupils all day.
