We strongly believe that our pupils should be taught the skills to enable them to make informed choices and take effective financial decisions in later life and are working with NatWest towards this end. As part of the Face 2 Face With Finance programme, bank staff come into school to work with our pupils: those who are helping to run the bank itself and those who are opening and managing their own accounts.

Our school bank is run by Mr Powell with the help of Year 10 / 11 Applied Business pupils. The bank is open in the Learning Centre (Library) every Wednesday lunchtime. Pupils can open a Card Plus Account and win one of the many prizes available to win!

The aims and objectives for this are:

• providing the experience of the world of work and the development of customer service skills for those pupils assisting the running the school bank;

• providing experience of enterprise by learning about promotion and marketing;

• helping pupils to understand the importance of and methods for saving and investment;

• promoting the understanding of financial capability and management of finances.
