Year 7 Multicultural Days

Each summer, the Combined Studies Department organise a Multicultural Day. The theme changes each year. The first Year 7 Multicultural Day took place on 15th July 2005 and focussed on Islam. In 2006 pupils studied China and in 2007, Greece. Multicultural Day is a collaborative project between Combined Studies and the Art Department as part of the work as an Arts College.

Islam Day - 2005

The culmination of the Islam day was for more than 150 Year 7 pupils to enjoy an Indian meal at the Tandoori Parlour in Hart Road, Thundersley. Pupils were encouraged to sample as many different dishes as they could to maximise their experience. For many of our pupils, this would have been their first Indian meal and their first time in a restaurant.

Miss K Cook and Mrs J Dawson organised the day. Our thanks go to Muslim artist Razwan Ulhaq and Indian dancer Nolly for their work during the day with our pupils.
